Robert Nathan Ellis of Houston, Texas, died Monday, July 12. He was 90. He was born July 15, 1914 in Walker County. He was a tool and die maker and a machinist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude P. Simmons; parents, James Ellis and Mat-tie Shavers Ellis; four brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren; one son-in-law, one sister-in-law. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lee and Ronda Ellis of Lumberton, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Margaret and Nelson Stephens of Lincoln, Texas, Pat Stacy of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Bertha Blevins of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Services: Thursday, July 15, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Burial: Giddings Cemetery.
